Ha! I thought to myself with tingles of excitement jolting through me as I silently grabbed my khaki overshirt hanging off that makeshift rusty wire hook before heading out. My new dormitory was so much better — the previous ones I’ve lived in were made from shipping containers but now I’m lucky enough to be in one that was constructed with bricks (good quality ones, mind you). I no longer had to carefully close the door behind me when I wanted to leave without one of those pesky busybodies following me. Even the doors were of high quality! No matter how loudly I slammed the door (not TOO loudly, of course), the sound waves wouldn’t rip through the entire building and wake everyone up like how it used to in the old dormitory. Not that I cared about these functionally illiterate beings — I would just rather not have to deal with them. All they knew and looked forward to was what concrete to stack up or which cement mix to use. Even though most of these silly goons owned smartphones, none of them were using it to read the news and learn. If they were anything like me, they’d try to learn, read and improve — not just waste their time on the next Angry birds or shoot the bubble game. I involuntarily shook my head with a faint smirk on my face as I straightened my collar and quietly descended the stairs.
